Urban's Message

Keith Urban thanked his wife, Nicole Kidman for staying "extraordinarily strong and loving" through the 90 days of his rehab. He also thanked his family, friend and fans for their support while he was at the Betty Ford clinic in Palm Springs, California.

He said in a video taped statement available on his website, that there was not one defining moment or clarified his decision to enter rehab “But, what it was a lot of small things that were happening in my life and a lot of small moments that were starting to accumulate that were telling me very loud and clear that I was a long way from my program of recovery and they were making my life unmanageable.”

The Australian country music star said he was ready for treatment. “"I got to the point where I wanted to go in for treatment." Urban added “with each week that passed I found myself learning to surrender, especially with my career.” He said he loves to play music and tour with his band.

He expected to stay just 30 days, but later decided to commit to a 90 day stent. It was not the best timing for his rehab because he was sequestered at the clinic during his birthday and while his record was being released.

At the same time as Urban was in rehab, lingerie model Amanda Wyatt accused Urban of having unprotected sex with her. She told the London Mail "I feel sorry for Nicole. Keith cheated on her repeatedly with me, right up to just before they got married. He's done it once and he will probably do it again. I know him as well as anyone and while he can be charming and loving, he is also someone who is constantly fighting his demons.”

Wyatt said “We were together throughout the whole time he was dating Nicole and engaged to her, right through 2005 and to around May 2006,” she claimed. Urban and Kidman were married in June of 2006.

According to Wyatt Urban was “drank constantly - his favorite was Crown Royal Reserve whisky. And he did drugs. Ecstasy, cocaine, pot - you name it." She said that Urban sent her explicit text messages inviting her to his Nashville mansion for sex while Kidman was out of town. Wyatt claims he often swam naked with her in his pool and enjoyed taking bubble baths with her.
