(Best Syndication) The Critics said that the Colts did not have the defense to win this Super Bowl, but who listens to critics anyway. The Indianapolis Colts beat the Chicago Bears 29-17 behind Peyton Manning who threw for 247 yards and a touchdown. Although this was the first rain storm in Superbowl history, the Bears refuse to blame their loss on the weather.

Things did not start off so well for the Colts when Devin Hester returned the opening kickoff for a 92-yard return and touchdown. That was a first in Superbowl history. The rain forced five turnovers in the first half, but it did not stop the Colts offense.

This was Manning’s ninth season in the NFL and he was named the game’s MVP. This was the Colts first title since Superbowl V for the 1970 season. Manning connected 25 of his 38 passes and was only picked off once to gain his second MVP award.

After the game Manning told reporters “There was no panic, nobody ever gave up. We stayed calm through the entire game. We truly won this championship as a team and I'm proud to be a part of it." It might help to have a calm coach as well.

Both coaches are known for their calm demeanor. Neither explodes or becomes abusive with the players. Tony Dungy became the first black coach to win the Super Bowl. Both Dungy and Bears coach Lovie Smith are African American, and it had to be one of them.

"I'm proud to be representing African-American cultures, to be the first African-American to win this," Dungy said. "It means an awful lot to our country."

No Bears player blamed the weather for their loss. Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher said “We thought we'd be able to defend the run better. We didn't. We didn't tackle well. We didn't stay in our gaps and they had some big runs on us. We didn't expect them to run the ball like they did today.” Even though he looked disappointed after the game Urlacher said “They are best team in the NFL this year. Enough said”.
