Lakers Lose To Cavaliers In Final Quarter Making Their Two Week Record 3-5 – Final Score 99-90 As Kobe Bryant Gets Shut Down Last Minutes

Sasha Pavlovic

(Best Syndication) The Lakers’ loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers Sunday was the fifth loss for the Lakers in eight games. Sasha Pavlovic scored 13 points in the fourth quarter to help block a Lakers win. Pavlovic finished with 21 points.

Kobe Bryant scored 36 points, but even that was not enough to win. The Lakers have been on the road for the last two weeks, and that may help explain their losing record. He scored the first 14 points in the final period, but was unable to score again because of the defense of Larry Hughes.

The final score was 99-90, but the final push came in the forth quarter as Kobe was shut down and the Cavs scored. Although LeBron James had 18 points, eight rebounds and five assists, be let Pavlovic and others score down the final stretch.

"I feel like a prophet,” James said. He has been praising Pavlovic for weeks. “People were looking at me crazy. I've always said that if Sasha gets the opportunity, he is going to be very good. We go against each other in practice and I know what type of player he is. He's showing it.”
LA coach Phil Jackson said "According to Kobe, no one else wanted to step up in that sequence. That was something we were looking for: somebody else to try and get going.”

Kobe said “Our defense pretty much caved. We gave them a lot of easy opportunities at the basket, a lot of free throws. The fourth quarter is when you really want to hold a team down and force them to hit shots - not put them at the free-throw line.”
