Preparations underway for 79th Academy Awards Show – List of Presenters and Musical Performers for Oscar Night

Queen Latifah will be presenting an Oscar Award

Everyone in Hollywood is watching the rolling out of the red carpet in front of the Kodak Theatre as Sunday night will be the 79th annual Academy Awards Show. We can all watch the show live on television as Oscars are handed out to recognize this year’s best in the Movie Industry.

This year’s show will be hosted by Ellen DeGeneres. This is the first time that DeGeneres has hosted and appeared on the Academy Awards. She is a well known comedian that has a day time show called, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show." She has gained Emmy award recognition for her talk show by winning her third time for Outstanding Talk Show and her second time for Outstanding Talk Show Host.

Presenters for the Oscar awards are as follows:
Ben Affleck, Jessica Biel, Jack Black, Cate Blanchett, Abigail Breslin, Steve Carell, George Clooney, Daniel Craig, Tom Cruise, Penélope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Kirsten Dunst, Will Ferrell, Jodie Foster, Eva Green, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Tom Hanks, Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Diane Keation, Nicole Kidman, Queen Latifah, Jennifer Lopez, Tobey Maguire, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jaden Christopher Syre Smith, John Travolta, Rachel Weisz, Kate Winslet and Reese Witherspoon.

Muscial performances will be given by Beyoncé, Melissa Etheridge, Jennifer Hudson, Randy Newman, Keith Robinson, Anika Noni Rose and James Taylor. Two songs from the musical “Dreamgirls” movie will be performed. Beyoncé will sing “Listen” and Jennifer Hudson, a former American Idol contestant, will sing “Love You I Do.” Melissa Etheridge will perform the song from Al Gore’s documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” called, “I Need to Wake Up.” Randy Newman and James Taylor will perform the song “Our Town” which was in the 3D animated movie “Cars.”

Sunday night is the big night and the live broadcast will be on ABC Television Network at 5 p.m. PST (8 p.m. EST). The first half our you can catch the red carpet arrivals and see all the designer fashions and your favorite actors and actresses.
