Roll-Over Car Accident on I-15 Freeway Reported By California Highway Patrol Near Main Street

On July 9, 2007, at 10:40 PM, CHP responded to a rollover collision with an ejected party northbound I-15 just north of the Main Street over cross. Upon contact with the driver, CHP Officer Sharp determined the driver (April Harrison, 36, resident of Long Beach) was under the influence of alcohol.

Additionally, the ejected party was determined to be her 7 year old son. Her son sustained major head trauma due to not wearing his seatbelt. The 7 year old child (name withheld due to age) was transported to Loma Linda Hospital for immediate medical treatment.

Subsequently, the driver (Harrison) was taken into custody for Felony DUI and Felony Child Endangerment. An additional charge of Felony DUI with a Blood Alcohol Concentration .08 % or above was added from the physical evidence obtained during the booking process.

Two other passengers, (Antonio Garcia, 53, Long Beach Resident & Kimo Warren, 46, Long Beach Resident) sustained moderate to minor injuries, respectively. Mr. Garcia was also transported to Loma Linda Hospital.

The CHP-Victorville office will be conducting this investigation to its
conclusion.
