Robin Williams Enters Rehab – Alcoholic Star Admits Started Drinking Again – RV DVD Aug 18th

Robin Williams is seeking treatment for alcoholism, according to his publicist, Mara Buxbaum. Buxbaum said Wednesday that Williams “found himself drinking again and has decided to take proactive measures to deal with this for his own well-being and the well-being of his family." She added “He looks forward to returning to work this fall to support his upcoming film releases."

Williams has been sober for 20 years. The 55 year old actor “asks that you respect his and his family’s privacy during this time.”

Robin Williams studied political science before he enrolled at Juilliard to study theater. Television audiences first discovered Williams when he played Mork on an episode of "Happy Days" in 1974. Later he started in his own show "Mork & Mindy" in 1978.

The comedian uses a great deal of improvisation and follows in the footsteps of his idol, Jonathan Winters. Lately the actor has stared in various dramatic roles including “The Night Listener”, “The Final Cut” and “One Hour Photo”. He also stars in “RV” which will be released on DVD August 15th.
