JonBenet Ramsey Case – John Mark Karr Charges Dropped

John Mark Karr who was the suspect that recently was taken into custody and flown from Thailand, was released from custody with charges being dropped for the 1996 murder case of JonBenet Ramsey.

It turns out that Karr was looking for a publicity stunt in a very publicized murder case which he was fascinated with. The district attorney dropped the case on Monday and are not proceeding on this case due to the DNA evidence did not match from the crime scene.

CNN reported earlier in the day that the DNA samples of Karr’s saliva and hair did not match the crime scene samples that were collected in 1996. The samples were collected on Friday and were completed this Monday.

Karr’s family had persisted to report that he was with them at home in Boulder on the day that the murder occurred. When he was flying back from Thailand he said JonBenet’s death was “an accident.”

People magazine reports that District Attorney Mary Lacy said, "Regarding the status of John Mark Karr, a safety plan has been established. We cannot comment further on this issue."
