Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wants to Help New Orleans be rebuilt

The Brangelina couple has not forgotten about the New Orleans Hurricane Katrina disaster. They are planning several visits to New Orleans throughout the year to make sure the city is cleaned up and rebuilt.

On August 31st, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie helped announce the winners of a design competition that Pitt started this past April. The competition was for the best design and construction using eco-friendly technologies and materials to rebuild the destroyed city’s homes.

The winner of the competition was by Matthew Berman and Andrew Kotchen of Workshop APD from New York. Their design was for six individual family housing units along with twelve multi-family dwellings. The design also planned for a community center along with a family play spot.

The Pitt said that they plan to spend a good amount of time in New Orleans in January and February when he is filming the movie “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.”

Pitt’s goal is to duplicate the successful project into other areas of New Orleans.
