German Terror Plot Uncovered By Police – Hatred For American Citizens Driving Force Behind Terrorists – CIA and MI5 Agree on Cause

(Best Syndication) German authorities say they have broken up a plot to detonate a series of car bombs in their country by a group with links to al-Qaeda. The suspects, two German nationals and one Turkish man, were allegedly targeting American facilities in Germany, military bases, discos and pubs frequented by US citizens.

The arrests were made on Tuesday at 2:30 pm local time in the village of Oberschledorn, in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, according to a report from the BBC. The suspects had acquired 1,600 pounds (730 kg) of hydrogen peroxide, which could be used to make explosives. This could have caused major damage and killed hundreds of people.

Although the Bush administration claimed that the war in Iraq would be fought to lower the risk of terror, an April 2006 National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) suggested that the war could be placing innocent American citizen in greater danger.

That report stated that “The Iraq conflict has become the ‘cause celebre’ for jihadists, breeding a deep resentment of US involvement in the Muslim world and cultivating supporters for the global jihadist movement.”

This could help explain why these suspects chose American targets in particular. The head of the German Federal Crime Office, the BKA, Joerg Ziercke, said that the suspects were motivated by a "profound hatred of US citizens".

The British intelligence agencies have come to the same conclusion. The head of the British MI5, Dame Eliza Manningham-Buller, told an audience at Queen Mary’s College in London on November 9th 2006 that British support of America’s war in Iraq has placed British citizens in greater danger.

“The video wills of British suicide bombers make it clear that they are motivated by perceived worldwide and long-standing injustices against Muslims,” Buller said, adding “An extreme and minority interpretation of Islam promoted by some preachers and people of influence; and their interpretation as anti-Muslim of UK foreign policy, in particular the UK's involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.”
