Alcohol may have been a factor in Daniel Smith’s death, according to the TMZ website. Daniel Smith is the son of the famed model, reality TV star, dancer and Playboy Bunny, Anna Nicole Smith.

The TMZ website says that sources connected to the investigation say that police have interviewed personnel on board his flight to the Bahamas, and there are rumblings that alcohol on the aircraft may have been a "factor".

After Daniel arrived in the Bahamas Anna Nicole’s attorney, Howard Stern, picked him up and drove him directly to the hospital where his mother was with her newborn daughter. Evidently Daniel died suddenly while in his mother’s hospital room.

The new information indicates that earlier reports were wrong -- There was no shortage of oxygen, there was no blood or vomit in the room, and we are told that no drugs or alcohol were found in the room.

Authorities said the death was “suspicious” and criminal charges could be filed. Smith, Stern and the hospital staff tried to revive the 20 year-old. The young man was pronounced dead early Sunday morning by the staff at Doctors Hospital in Nassau, lawyer Michael Scott said.

The Irish Examiner reports that Smith has no memory of her son’s death. She was “so distraught by the death of her son in the Bahamas that she had to be sedated and later suffered memory loss of the event.”

Anna Nicole went to the Bahamas to in an effort to avoid the media spotlight while she was pregnant. Authorities in the Bahamas are waiting for toxicology reports to confirm the cause of death. Reginald Ferguson, assistant commissioner of the Royal Bahamian Police Force, said that no drug paraphernalia or traces of illegal drugs were found on Daniel Smith, in the hospital room or near the room.

There were no signs of physical injury to Daniel. Anna Nicole noticed her son slumped in his chair on Sunday morning and called for help. Hospital staff unsuccessfully tried CPR and other measures to revive him. Scott dismisses earlier reports that indicate that Daniel had antidepressants or other drugs in his system.

In another report, the Daily News says that there may have been a third person in the room with Daniel. Patients in adjoining rooms say they heard Anna Nicole yell “You caused this!" to the third person who was present in the room. The local newspaper, The Tribune in the Bahamas, describes that third person as a boyfriend of Anna Nicole. They say that she was "screaming loudly and blaming someone" for her son's collapse about 9 a.m.

The mysterious person was not her ex-flame, Larry Birkhead. Michael Scott, an attorney for Anna Nicole Smith, said the third person in the hospital room was Howard K. Stern.

A jury inquest is scheduled to start on October 23rd. It will be open to the public and Anna Nicole will be required to attend.
