Fatal Accident on Interstate 15 Freeway North Of Bear Valley In Victorville – Driver Charged With Drunk Driving
(Best Syndication News) Victorville CA - There was a fatal collision on the 15 Freeway over the weekend, according to the California Highway Patrol. The accident occurred just north of Bear Valley in Victorville at approximately 1AM Saturday. Alcohol and or drugs could have been involved.
CHP Officer Jeffrey Perez tells Best Syndication that an Orange County resident died in the collision. Jason Morgan of Victorville was airlifted to flown by Mercy Air to Loma Linda Medical Center. Morgan will be charged with felony DUI and felony Vehicular Manslaughter. The other driver was also flown to Loma Linda and is in good condition.

driving a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup, sustained major injuries
(major head trauma), flown by Mercy Air to Loma Linda University
Hospital, arrested for felony DUI and felony Vehicular Manslaughter.
Party #2 = Ryan Pearson, male, 27 years old, Long Beach resident,
driving a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV, wearing a seatbelt, sustained minor
injury (complaint of neck and back pain), flown by Mercy Air to Loma
Linda University Hospital for medical treatment/observations, listed in
stable, good condition.

Right Front Passenger -Deborah Pearson, female, 51 years old, Garden
Grove resident, sustained fatal injuries (major blunt trauma to head,
chest, abdominal region, Coroner Case #6474 -- At 1:01 AM, CHP received
a call of a head-on collision in the northbound lanes of I-15 about one
mile north of Bear Valley Road. Deborah Pearson, a 51 year-old resident
of Long Beach, was the passenger in a Hyundai Sante Fe that was
traveling northbound on I-15. Deborah Pearson was pronounced dead from
major blunt trauma injuries she sustained in the collision at 1:14 AM.
Right Rear Passenger - Reagan Pearson, female, 2 years old, Long Beach
resident, restrained in a child seat, sustained minor injuries
(complaint of pain to head, neck and chest areas), flown by Mercy Air to
Loma Linda University Hospital, listed in good condition.
Right Rear Passenger - Delaney Pearson, female, 4 years old, Long Beach
resident, restrained in a child seat, sustained major head and body
trauma, flown by Mercy Air to Loma Linda University Hospital, listed in
very serious, critical condition.
Party #3 = Christopher Wiley, male, 35 years old, San Diego resident,
driving a 1999 Toyota, wearing a seatbelt, uninjured.
Party #4 = Teshonne Harper, female, 31 years old, Spring Valley
resident, driving a 2008 Pontiac, wearing a seatbelt, uninjured.
Morgan was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup in the southbound
direction while traveling on the northbound side of I-15 south of
Palmdale Road in the northbound #1 lane (wrong-way driver). Harper was
driving a 2008 Pontiac, northbound I-15 south of Palmdale Road, when she
observed the wrong-way driver heading towards her. Harper abruptly
swerved to her left into the center median and struck the center metal
guard rail. Meanwhile, Morgan continued traveling the wrong way
approaching Bear Valley Road at an unknown rate of speed. At this
point, Mr. Pearson was driving a 2004 Hyundai, northbound I-15 north of
Bear Valley Road in the #1 lane. Additionally, Wiley was driving a 1999
Toyota, northbound I-15 in the #3 lane north of Bear Valley Road.
Subsequently, Morgan's vehicle collided head on with Mr. Pearson's
vehicle and then struck Wiley's vehicle. Upon impact into Mr. Pearson's
vehicle, right front passenger (Deborah Pearson) sustained fatal
injuries. Morgan sustained major blunt trauma injuries to his head area
and was airlifted to Loma Linda University Hospital. Mr. Pearson and
left rear passenger (Reagan Pearson) sustained minor injuries (complaint
of pain only). However, the right rear passenger in Pearson's vehicle
(one 4 yr old girl, Delaney Pearson) sustained major injuries and all
three were airlifted by Mercy Air to Loma Linda.
It was determined on scene the use of alcohol and/or drugs by Mr.
Morgan is suspected to be a contributing factor in this traffic
collision. As a result, Morgan was arrested for felony D.U.I. and
felony vehicular manslaughter. Upon release from Loma Linda Hospital,
he will booked at the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department West
Valley Detention Center for the aforementioned charges. This is a
preliminary report only. CHP Officer Robert Sharp will be handling this
traffic collision fatality to its conclusion.
