[Best Syndication News] If you are tired of working for corporations that continually downsize when times get tough and you are given the pink slip, you probably are wondering how you can work for a industry that is recession proof. While there is no guarantee that a recession proof job will not be downsized, you are more likely to still have a job in a down economic time.

The best recession proof jobs are currently found working in the healthcare industry. Laurence Shatkin, the author of ‘150 Best Recession Proof Jobs’ was on ABC news and he said that dentists are an exception because people will skip going to get their teeth cleaned if times are tough. He did say that there is a great need for nurses, and nursing home care because of the baby boomers hitting retirement age. There is also need for medical assistants and as well as Physicians.

Shatkin continued to explain that the best recession proof jobs are often related to utilities such as water and electric. The transportation industry does fine during a recession and there is need for public ground transportation workers. These jobs are needed both in good times and in bad times.

Shatkin also said that education also falls within the necessities for a recession proof job. However this year we have seen across the country downsizing at public schools, even despite the student population remaining or even growing in some cases. Even though teaching jobs may be able to weather a recession there have been some tough times for some school districts across the country. Shatkin suggested that post secondary education is a good place to get involved in for teaching because many of the college teachers are baby boomers and they will need to have to hire replacements. He also said that GED school teachers are in demand as well as English as a Second Language teachers are needed as well.

On a CBS news report, they suggested that in addition to healthcare and education jobs, that law enforcement jobs such as city police and courts were good choices. They also said that the alternative energy industry is recession proof. They even think that computer technology jobs are also recession proof jobs.
