[Best Syndication News] Microsoft announced that they will have a 2010 online version of their Office software available for free use online. Microsoft will have a limited version of the online application but it will do some basic text editing. Google Docs, which is also free, is the closest comparison to what Microsoft will be doing online.

What the online version of Office 2010 won't have is PowerPoint with video editing capabilities, and Word with image editing features.

I think that online applications could have some benefits, especially if you are on the go and what to access your documents through your mobile phone, your computer at home and your computer at work. So next time you are wanting to work while you are away from your desk, you can still plug along and get some work done.

What's New in Microsoft Office 2010

There is a big trend with the paid version of Microsoft's Office 2010 to be about collaborating with people on the same document at the same time and the integration of easy access of the files online and on your web enabled cell phone.

In Microsoft Word 2010 you can work with multiple people on one document at one time. You can store your documents online and edit with Word 2010 anywhere you can get on the internet.

In Microsoft Excel 2010 the improvements on on easier ways to share documents along with being able to have multiple people working on the same file at the same time. There is new data and analysis and visualization tools in this new version. There is an Office Excel Mobile to take with you on your smartphone and there is and online web application for storing and editing through the Internet.

Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 has improvements on audio and visual capabilities which will give you a even more professional presentation. There are new tools that will help guide you to making a dynamic presentation. In addition to this you can load your presentation on your smartphones so you can instantly give your sales pitch without dragging out your notebook. You can also upload your PowerPoint presentation to the internet so that people can watch it online and you can work with other people on the same presentation at the same time.

Microsoft Outlook 2010 email software got a few upgrades as well. They have improved tracking and management of emails and you can compress long emails down. They made it quicker to sort, file and delete your emails.
Microsoft OneNote 2010 is a digital notebook to keep track of all your brainstorming ideas with text, photos, videos, and audio files. You can access Notebooks via the Internet and through your smartphone so you can take notes on the road.

Microsoft Publisher 2010 doesn't sound like they have updated this much. It is a desktop publishing software to create letters, business cards, fax cover sheets, cards and brochures.

Microsoft Access 2010 has capability to get to the software from the Internet.
Microsoft SharePoint Workspace 2010 is the new name for Groove 2007. This is for working with multiple people on files and makes the files available for online access. There is a automatic synchronize features to keep all the work up to the most recent version both offline and online.

Microsoft InfoPath 2010 is for designing electronic forms without having to know in-depth computer programming.

The Office web application will be Microsoft's Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. You will be able to access the files via your computer, a mobile phone with internet access, and any system that has web access. You will be able to create new documents and also do common basic editing online.
