(Best Syndication News) The new Jerry Bruckheimer / Walt Disney Pictures “G-Force” hit the big screens this weekend grossing more than $32 million (see the totals and trailers below). They were number-one at the box office. The new romantic comedy, “The Ugly Truth”, came in third place followed by “Orphan” in fourth.

Disney films seem to do pretty good, and “G-Force” does not seem to be an exception. The new action comedy was written by Cormac and Marianne Wibberley and produced in Disney Digital 3-D.

The stars of the show were called “G-Force”, a group of highly trained government agents. The government sometimes uses people as guinea pigs, but here they were actually using guinea pigs.

After a failed mission to foil a plot to take over the world, team leader Darwin (Sam Rockwell), martial arts expert Juarez (Penelope Cruz), weapons and transportation specialist Blaster (Tracy Morgan), cyber intelligence mole Speckles (Nicolas Cage), and high-tech surveillance fly Mooch (Edwin Louis) were sent to a pet shop to retire.

But the team never gave up on stopping the evil doer’s plot to takeover the world using appliances. They were able to escape and accomplish what no other guinea pig has accomplished before.

The Ugly Truth

If your mother told you that men are interested in one thing and one thing only, she may have been on to something. In “The Ugly Truth” Mike (Gerard Butler – “Nim's Island”) a correspondent, is introduced to his new producer, played by Katherine Heigl (Abby – “Knocked Up”).

The pair pretends that they are not interested in each other. Abby has contempt for Mike’s chauvinistic behavior. Mike just wants to see how far he can get with Abby. But in the end, the pair realizes they may be right for each other.

Orphan

After the loss of one their children, Kate (Vera Farmiga – “Never Forever”) and John (Peter Sarsgaard – “Jarhead”), decide to add an orphan to the family. Ester, played by 12 year-old Isabelle Fuhrman, is not what she seems to be. In reality she is much older but suffers from hypoplasia, a disease that makes her look young.

After Kate finds out about the tragic events surrounding Ester’s past, she tries to warn John and her other two kids. But will she be able to save the day or will more tragedy surround the orphan.
