(Best Syndication News) Urban Meyer III, the 45 year old head coach of the University of Florida Gators football team, will not be coaching next year, citing health reasons. Offensive Coordinator, Steve Addazio, will temporarily take over the job on an interim basis. Expect ESPN and other news outlets to release the details in a news conference Sunday.

On Saturday Meyer was admitted to a local hospital complaining of chest pains. This is not the first time that Meyer has had health problems. In 1998, Doctors found a non-life-threatening arachnoid cyst on his brain. These cysts are caused by a congenital disorder and develop between the brain and the cranial base / spinal cord.

In 2009 the Gators had a 12-0 season along with an SEC Championship title. But they lost to Alabama in the SEC Championship game. The AP reports that Meyer will lead the Gators in the 2010 season, but that might not be the case.

Meyer, with his history of health problems, is expected to announce he will not be coaching next season, according to several other news sources.

“I have given my heart and soul to coaching college football and mentoring young men for the last 24-plus years and I have dedicated most of my waking moments the last five years to the Gator football program,” Meyer said.

“I have ignored my health for years, but recent developments have forced me to reevaluate my priorities of faith and family,” the Gator coach said before stepping down.

Meyer said he did not have a heart attack, but is just suffering from chest pains. He refuses to answer whether the doctors told him to quit. Mark Long with AP said: “Despite ongoing concerns with his health, he expects to be on the sideline leading the Gators when next season opens”
