(Best Syndication News) Nokia filed a complaint with the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) claiming Apple has infringed on seven of their patents. Nokia, the Finish mobile phone manufacture, claims that Apple used features in “virtually all of its mobile phones, portable music players, and computers” that were patented by Nokia.

In a statement the company said the key features include the interface, the camera, antenna, and power management technologies. An Apple Spokesperson has not been reached yet, but this is just the latest in a series of ongoing patent disputes with the company. Back in October Nokia filed suit claiming Apple infringed on 10 of its patents.

The suit in October involved the wireless technology. "The basic principle in the mobile industry is that those companies who contribute in technology development to establish standards create intellectual property, which others then need to compensate for," said Ilkka Rahnasto in October. Rahnasto is Vice President, Legal & Intellectual Property for Nokia. "Apple is also expected to follow this principle. By refusing to agree appropriate terms for Nokia's intellectual property, Apple is attempting to get a free ride on the back of Nokia's innovation."

Nokia admits they have one of the broadest patent portfolios in the industry. The October complaint alleged that Apple infringed on Nokia patents for GSM, UMTS and wireless LAN (WLAN) standards.

In a statement today, paul Melin, General Manager for Patent Licensing at Nokia said: "This action is about protecting the results of such pioneering development. While our litigation in Delaware is about Apple's attempt to free-ride on the back of Nokia investment in wireless standards, the ITC case filed today is about Apple's practice of building its business on Nokia's proprietary innovation."
