Tornado Warning Issued for parts of Southern California

[Best Syndication News] The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for Orange County, California.

California cities that are included in the tornado watch are the cities of Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, Westminster, Tustin Foothills, Santa Ana, Garden Grove, Irvine, Fullerton, Costa Mesa and Anaheim until 2 p.m.

There has been a severe thunderstorm that was spotted between Newport Beach and Huntington Beach that has been moving in a northeast direction at a speed of 30 mph. The was a waterspout that was seen at 1:02 p.m., which was moving northeast toward the coast.

The storm is also capable of producing 1 inch diameter hail.

If you are in the area of the tornado watch move to the lowest part of the building and stay away from windows. With most homes not having basements in Southern California you should get under a sturdy piece of furniture or a workbench or in an interior hallway or closet. Cover you body in blankets or pillows.

If you are driving do not seek shelter underneath an overpass if a tornado is approaching.
