There are some options out there, and you don't have to go broke doing it. The problem often faced with working out is the boredom of the same old routine. It isn't everyone's best workout, but it can provide a workout and make it a bit more entertaining as you try something different. You have to own the Wii Game Console which is now retailing for $199, and you need to have a balance board that comes bundled with a workout program ranging from $99 - $140 depending on the bundle. There is also a new workout that uses a camera called Your Shape, which comes with a camera that works with the game that will scan your body. You can add to your collection of Wii exercise games, as there is quite a large selection available.


This is a great way to get an aerobic workout and let you run, jog, or walk, at any time of day or night. It can be great to have in your home because if you have a tough time getting to the gym, you might be able to find a few minutes hear and their throughout the day to walk a mile or two. If you hook up a television or have your favorite tunes playing, you will pass the time away in an enjoyable way. This can become boring at times, so you might want to add other workouts throughout the week to keep it interesting.

Exercise Balls or Fitness Balls

This is an inexpensive way to have a fun workout. The exercise balls have been in the marketplace for quite sometime now, and often times you can buy a ball with an accompanying workout DVD. You will find it challenging to balance your body. It is inexpensive, and can be a great way to break up your workouts.

Exercise Bands also called Resistance Tubes

If you don't want to have a gazillion dumbbells sitting around your home to trip over, you might want to look into getting an exercise band. Some come with handles built on the ends while others look like one long elastic band. You step on the bands to give it resistance. Depending on how you stretch them when you stand on them, is how much resistance you will get. They also have different band tensions that often are bundled together to vary the resistance. They also are easy to bring along with you if you travel or want to workout at the office for a minute or two.

Recumbent and Spinning Class Type Exercise Bikes

There are two types of exercise bikes, the Recumbent exercise bikes are the ones that you pedal in front of you as you sit back in a chair. It is great for those that want to workout but not be pushing themselves to the brink. I think this is great if you want to watch some TV while you are working out. This laid back design can be easy on the hips as well as prevent strain on your back like a traditional upright bicycle design would do.

The upright exercise class has been called spinning class at gyms because they really push a workout on these bicycles. It can provide a good workout, but it is not as comfortable as the other style and can cause sore butts and backs.

The good news is that you can find affordable exercise bicycles that will perform the task at hand of providing a workout. Just make sure that if you are tall or short that the exercise bicycles are able to adjusted.

Exercise DVDs

There still are plenty of exercise DVD's being produced to date. You can do Bollywood workouts, Yoga classes, Pilates, Hip Hop Dancing, muscle toning, and more with the wide selection of workout DVD's that are on the market today. This can help to alleviate the boredom if you have different workouts that you do each day.

So as you can see these are just some ideas that you can do to make your workout more interesting and diverse.
