[Best Syndication News] A civil lawsuit was filed against Toyota Motor Corp. today by Orange County California prosecutors on behalf of the people. This lawsuit is accusing Toyota for continuing to sell cars and trucks that they knew had defective acceleration gas pedals.

The prosecutors of the lawsuit intends to prove that Toyota ignored, omitted, and misrepresented evidence that was accumulating over several years about the safety of their vehicles.

This is not the only lawsuit that Toyota has received from the faulty gas pedal defect on many of their car models. It is the first filed under consumer protection laws. The district attorney is seeking damages of $2,500 for every violation of California's unfair business practices laws.

Toyota has found a repair for the defective gas pedals that accelerate the vehicle without notice. They have issued a recall on over 8 million cars worldwide with around 6 million being in the United States.

The Toyota defect is believed to be responsible for the death of 50 people that had this happen to their cars and were unable to stop safely and died.

Hopefully the problem will be fixed, but investigations on the Federal level of the Toyota recall for the sticking gas pedals is ongoing and the Japanese company will be having to answer to a Congressional investigation to determine if there are any criminal charges for the neglect to recall and fix the problem sooner.
