Dixie Carter Dead at age 70

[Best Syndication News] Actress Dixie Carter passed away Saturday morning at the age of 70. Carter is best known for her role as Julia Sugarbaker TV series 'Designing Women' which ran from 1986 to 1993.

The family has not disclosed the cause of death and have People magazine reported that the family's rep said that they would like to keep this private at this time.

Carter has acted recently in an independent film called 'That Evening Sun'. In 2007, she had a guest part on ABC's 'Desperate Housewives.'

Her husband Hal Holbrook, and her two daughters from her first marriage are mourning her death.
