Smartphones for Small Business useage in demand

(Best Syndication News) - Smartphones are everywhere and small business owners are implementing them in their daily operations. A recent survey found that small business owners are using smartphones beyond just for a phone or for emails. Many are also developing mobile phone apps to reach out to potential customers.

According to a study conducted by Rasmussen Reports, LLC for Discover business credit card division, around a third of small business owners use smartphones in their day to day operations. What they found out is that 19 percent of small businesses themselves are in the process of developing apps that mobile users can use. With so many people using mobile phones everywhere they go it has become an ever more important way for small business owners to reach their potential customers.

Thirty-four percent of the small business owners surveyed by Discover reported to using a smartphone. This outnumbered consumers by 26 percent owning a smartphone. The business owners reported using their smartphones quite often. The survey asked them if they used their phones beyode calling and email “very much” and 33 percent of the small business smartphone users agreed with this, while 41 percent said they use it “somewhat” and 21 percent said “not much.” Only 3 percent said “not at all.”

Age didn't matter for the smartphone owners. The survey found a fairly even distribution of these surveyed who used a smartphone; age 18-29 35 percent, age 30-39 44 percent, 40-49 36 percent, 50-64 27 percent, 65 and over 16 percent. Even though there was not much different in age distribution for the small business smartphone owners, 100 percent of the small business owners age 18-29 said that they either use their phones “somewhat” or “very much” for their operation of their business besides just to make phone calls and emails.

Forty-four percent of the smarphone small business owners wanted mobile phone apps that were developed for business use. There was 20 percent that said they weren't sure if they needed more business apps, and 35 percent said they didn't want more mobile phone apps.
