Steven Tyler judging on 'American Idol' boosts Aerosmith music sales

(Best Syndication News) - There is an extra perk for Steven Tyler working as a judge for this season's 'American Idol' TV show – more album and song sales for his band Aerosmith.

According to Music Industry Today, which is put out by Nielsen SoundScan News, Aerosmith music sales have increased 250% since Tyler has been working as a judge for 'American Idol'. The Aerosmith Greatest Hits collections have increased 250% said Nielson Soundscan, with a 260% increase after the premiere of 'American Idol'.

Aerosmith has been making their hit recordings since the 1970's. The band has sold over 150 million albums worldwide.

'American Idol' is in its 10th season. Simon Cowell left last season along with Ellen DeGeneres, and Kara DioGuardi, and two new judges joined Randy Jackson for this season – Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez.

This season allowed 15 year olds to audition for the first time. 'American Idol' has also been changed to Wednesdays and Thursdays on FOX. There is one more week of auditions in San Francisco this week, then we go to Hollywood to start narrowing down the contestants for the singing competition.
