(Best Syndication News) Local lawmakers are looking for comments on redistricting in California. State Senator Sharon Runner announced two meetings for public input. The first meeting will be held on Saturday, April 30 from 2pm to 5pm at the City of San Fernando City Council Chambers at 117 Macneil Street, San Fernando.

The second meeting will be held Sunday May 1 from 2pm to 5pm at Sierra Toyota, 43301 12th Street West in Lancaster. She says the commission is encouraging public input.

They will use census data to assist in their decision making. Preliminary maps will be drawn up with the first round of draft maps which will be released Friday, June 10.

Runner also wanted to remind residents that a Student Arts Program will be available for children from the first to fourth grades. She is asking that teachers submit artwork from their classes. Contact her at sharonrunner@gmail.com.
