(Best Syndication News) The 2011 winner of FOX’s ‘American Idol’ TV show was named and it is Scott McCleery. Season 10 was so different because of the new judges, without Simon Cowell criticizing. McCleery was a surprise winner for the singing competition this year. Many viewers did not think that he would win it in the early weeks of the competition. However, McCleery’s low tones and country themed sounds must have won over the viewers each week. There were over 122 million viewer votes that decided this year’s ‘American Idol’ winner. The all-star line-up of performances on the season finale were very entertaining.

McCleery was only 17 when he auditioned for ‘American Idol’ in the Milwaukee auditions. McCleery is from Garner, NC. Could it be possible that country music is taking over rock music? It was interesting how he won it and it was nice to see a different genre take the title.

The performances on last night’s ‘American Idol’ had a long list of singers and bands. They had former American Idol contestants join in with the famous performers. On last night's finale, there was performances by Judas Priest, Tom Jones, Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez with her husband Marc Anthony and Sheila E., Steven Taylor, Beyonce, Tim McGraw, and more.

Jennifer Lopez took time out from her judges seat to perform on the finale with her husband Marc Anthony along with Shelia E. playing the snare drum. Lopez joined a group of dancers shaking her booty along with Latino styled music.

American Idol judge, Steven Tyler, performed the Aerosmith song “Dream On.” He rocked the song just as well as he did when the song first became a hit.

Lady Gaga was performing on top of a tall cliff like thing with her jumping off the edge at the end of the performance. I would estimate that Gaga and her dancer both plunged around 12 - 14 feet of the cliff set. This was all part of the act, and there of coarse was a safety net hidden in the set to catch their fall.

Beyonce performed a collection of her songs in a melody along with a group of former American Idol girl contestants.

Jack Black and American Idol Casey Abrams sang Queen’s “Fat Bottomed Girls” song.

Heavy metal rock band, Judas Priest, was a surprise to see perform on the show.

Pretty soon we will get to watch the ‘The X Factor' which is Simon Cowell's latest project. 'American Idol' may be popular, but maybe 'The X Factor' show will eventually replace it.
