(Best Syndication News) - The 2011 Lawnmower Exchange program is going on now in Southern California to help residents in certain cities to exchange their gas powered mower for a discounted new electric mower. This is the ninth annual “Mow Down Air Pollution” lawnmower exchanger program. In order to participate there is a pre-registration needed along with other requirements.

You have to be at least 18 years old and a resident in certain cities throughout Southern California to be able exchange a working gasoline powered mower for a deeply discounted electric mover. There are 6,600 electric mowers available for only $100, $160 or $230 this year. The different prices reflect the five different models available. You can only exchange one lawnmower per household. All of Orange County, and the urban portions of Los Angeles County (excluding the Antelope Valley), Riverside
County and San Bernardino County cities may be included. To get the complete list of cities for each county visit, http://www.aqmd.gov/aqmd/cities.html.

To learn more about the lawnmower exchange requirements and to pre-register for the event in your area visit www.aqmd.gov. You can also call the free Lawn Mower Exchange Hotline at (888) 425-6247. Telephone reservations are made only on Tuesday - Friday from 8am to 5pm.

There is also a free 'Go Green! Lawn and Garden Expo' that will be hosted at the same time as the lawnmower exchange event dates, which is being hosted by the AQMD government agency. They will be showing environmentally friendly gardening tools and equipment.
