Another Tylenol Recall announced this June 2011

Tylenol Extra Strength Caplets

(Best Syndication News) - There is a new Tylenol Recall announced on June 28, 2011, which involves one lot of TYLENOL®, Extra Strength Caplets. The product was recalled after the makers, McNeil Consumer Healthcare, received complaints from consumers of a musty, moldy odor smell coming from the OTC medicine. The product was recalled voluntarily as a precautionary measure.

The company said that the smell comes from a trace amount of chemical 2,4,6-tribromoanisole (TBA). The Tylenol caplets were manufactured in February 2009.

Symptoms reported with this have been temporary and have been only non-serious gastrointestinal symptoms. The company says it would be very rare for a serious medical event to occur from this recalled medication.

Only one lot number is involved in this particular recall. The TYLENOL®, Extra Strength Caplets, 225 count bottles with Lot number ABA619 are being recalled. The UPC Code is 300450444271. Only this one lot is being recalled.

If a consumer has the recalled product, McNeil Consumer Healthcare, said to stop using the product and contact them either at or by calling their customer service toll-free number at 1-888-222-6036 (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time). Information will be given getting either a refund or a product replacement coupon. Medical questions should be directed to their health-care provider.
