There is research that Doctor Oz found suggesting optimal times of days to burn fat, boost metabolism, and even go grocery shopping. Here is Doctor Oz’s list of things you can do at certain times of day to increase weight loss.

The Best times of Day to Help you Lose Weight.

When is the best time of the day to weigh yourself?

Doctor Oz said that the average American wakes up at 6:00 a.m. and should weigh themselves at 6:30 a.m. By weighing at this time of day, you will get a more consistent measurement. After you get up and go to the bathroom is when you should weigh yourself on the bathroom scale. Doctor Oz demonstrated how much extra weight you could lose in the morning from sweating and going to the bathroom in the morning; it is the equivalent of a bottle of wine.

When is the best time to exercise during the day?

Doctor Oz said the answer at 6:35 a.m., which is right after you weigh yourself. When you exercise in the morning, you are burning fat from your body in a different way. He explained that when you eat breakfast first before exercising, you would first have to burn the calories from the food before you get to the fat.

When is the best time to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner?

Doctor Oz said that the body has a circadian rhythm that works with our eating patterns. If you wake up at 6:30 a.m., you should eat breakfast at 7:30 a.m.; next, you should eat lunch at noon, and finally eat dinner at 6:30 p.m. If you delay the times that you should eat your meals, you are going to get hungrier than normal and will increase the chances that you will overeat. You should have breakfast within an hour of waking up and have to have dinner more than 3 hours before bed, Doctor Oz added.

When is the best time to boost metabolism?

Doctor Oz said the best time to boost the metabolism is 8:00 am. He explains that the body is the slowest at this time of the morning, which is why many people drink coffee to help wake up. He suggest drinking a glass of ice cold water at this time. The icy water in the stomach will force the body warm up the ice water and will help to increase the metabolism. He said that drinking ice-cold water could help a person lose a pound in a year.

When is the best time to go grocery shopping?

Dr. Oz said the best time for grocery shopping is at 10 a.m. He said that reason for this is that you are still full from breakfast and the water and your blood sugar levels are at a good level. Whenever our blood sugar levels are low, you are more likely to buy things that you should not. If you have a grocery list, stick with it.

When is the best time to take a fiber supplement?

Dr. Oz said that the best time to take a fiber supplement is at 6:15 p.m., which is 15 minutes before dinner. He explained that the fiber will swell up in the stomach and a person could eliminate the starchy mashed potatoes from the meal. If you saved 70 calories at each meal he said this can help you lose up to 7 pounds in a year.

3 Step Plan to Break your Sugar and Fat Addiction

Doctor Oz had guest, Melina Jampolis MD., who is a Board Certified Internist Physician Nutrition Specialist, come on the show to share three simple things a person can do to stop a sugar and fat addiction. Dr. Jampolis said that fat and sugar could cause addictive brain changes. Eating too much sugar and fat can block the fullness chemical called leptin in your brain. She said that if you cannot feel full, you would probably end up eating too much. If you are hungry all the time, it is hard to lose weight.

Step 1: Detox the liver.

Dr. Jampolis explained that the liver can have fat build up inside the cells of liver, which can make it difficult to metabolize calories and make it difficult to lose weight. So in order to get the liver detoxed she suggest replacing all grains with cruciferous vegetables for one week. Cruciferous vegetables include cabbage, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, broccoli, and kale. She said that if you cannot get rid of all the carbs, eat them at breakfast only because starch with protein will help you better in the morning. If you eat starch later in the day, the starch will have a higher chance of storing fat overnight. She also said to eat onions and leeks.

Step 2: Take supplements for withdrawal symptoms.

Dr. Jampolis said that Chromium Picolinate 1000 mg per day supplement was helpful initially with her patients. She said that this supplement can help with insulin.

For the long term, she suggests taking a Vitamin B complex with 100 percent daily value. She explains that this will help boost your mood, and B vitamin could help you lose weight.

Step 2: Cut sugar and fat from the diet as much as possible.

Reduce saturated and trans fats from the diets. She said that you don’t have to eliminate red meat from your diet but should minimized it at a Four meals of white meat to 1 meal of red meat ratio. She said that if you do not eat red meat at all you do not have to introduce it.

Step 3: Eat 3 servings of fruit a day.

Dr. Jampolis said to eat the colorful fruits as there are many antioxidants that you get from eating fruit.
