(Best Syndication News) - Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) announced that their online streaming video and digital movie and TV show purchase service now has a library of over 100,000 titles. Instant Video rentals for new releases start at $3.99. Amazon Prime members now have access to over 9,000 movies and TV shows at no extra cost.

Amazon Prime members pay a yearly membership, which gives upgraded shipping perks. Customers get 2-Day shipping for free on products purchased at Amazon, with no minimum-purchase amount. The yearly membership is $79. Additionally, the Prime members have access to unlimited viewing of over 9,000 titles in their library.

Amazon is starting to promote their streaming video service more by adding free unlimited watching for their Prime members; but they have a lot of competition. Netflix has become the leader in video rental services with 25 million subscribers.

Netflix has a vast watch-instantly library and a large collection of DVD-by-mail rentals available through the U.S. postal service. Even though Netflix recently announced they would charge separately for their mailed DVD rentals and their streaming video rentals, the service is still very competitive. Each service will be $7.99 per month for new subscribers and will begin in September for current subscribers.
