(Best Syndication News) - The County of San Bernardino Board of Supervisors will begin holding their meetings over a videoconferencing system. Although video of the meetings has already been available online, this is a new method of interacting with the public. Residents in the High Desert can go to a Victorville meeting room to participate and view the video-conference. The video-conference at the remote location will help make it easier for the residents of the high desert communities to participate in the local government without having to travel as far for meetings.

The Board of Supervisors will have their first teleconferenced meeting on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at 10 a.m. Traveling to the meeting room may not be needed, if the goal is to only view the meeting. County residents can watch a live meeting online at http://www.sbcounty.gov/main/countyvision.asp. There are also previously recorded meetings available to review.

If the intention is to participate in the meeting, you will need to travel to County Transitional Assistance Department building, 15010 Palmdale Road, Conference Room A/B, in Victorville. To get to the meeting room use the outer door west of the main lobby entrance. This room has the video-conferencing equipment.

If you want to ask as a question or submit documents for the supervisors to consider at the meeting they must do so by 5 p.m. the day before the scheduled meeting or hearing. The paperwork needs to be sent to Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, 385 North Arrowhead Avenue, 2nd Floor, San Bernardino, CA 92415-0130.

Board meeting closures will be posted on their website prior to the meeting. If there are any technical difficulties or inclement weather during the scheduled meeting day it could be canceled.

The Board of Supervisors will continue to offer the live teleconferenced meetings for the next year. After that, they will decide if they will continue to offer it.
