(Best Syndication News) - Linux Mint 12 has now been released and is available to download off the group’s website. Several new features include the interface.

Linux Mint is based on Gnome 3, but has been configured with the unique user interface. The new update provides more background images for the desktop. The Mint Gnome Shell Extensions (MGSE) works on top of Gnome 3 and is configurable. There are also two new themes for the desktop called Mint-Z and Mint-Z-Dark.

MATE is part of the new release. This lets users run both versions on Gnome on the same computer system. It is on the DVD release of Linux Mint 12.

The default search engine is Duckduckgo.com, which does not track searches, and will not serve up results based on your history.

Mint 12 has huge improvements to installing other engines. They made it easier to understand and accomplish this task.

Linux Mint is available to download free. The operating system development is funded by donations and advertisements on the website.

There are several different free linux operating systems including Ubuntu, and Debian.
