3.6 Magnitude Earthquake shakes near Ontario, California

(Best Syndication News) - A 3.6 magnitude earthquake shook California residents in the early morning hours today. The tumbler struck at 12:32 am only 4 miles between Ontario and Mira Loma California.

The exact location of the 3.6 magnitude earthquake was at 34.023°N, 117.577°W with a depth of 1.6 km.

The USGS received hundreds of reports from people who felt the event. Most people that were closest to the epicenter reported that it was a light tremor. A couple of Hesperia and Apple Valley residents reported that they felt a weak event.

The US Geological Survey reported other small 1.0 – 1.9 magnitude earthquakes throughout the greater Los Angeles region over the past week.

The nearest major fault line is the Cucamonga Fault. There is no fault line mapped by the USGS for the location of this particular earthquake. The USGS has a map of the Los Angeles Southern California Fault Lines.
