Whitney Houston Dead at 48 - Cause of Death Unknown

(Best Syndication News) - Singer and actress, Whitney Houston, died on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 3:55 pm PT after paremedics were unable to revive her when members of her entourage found her unresponsive at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Houston was scheduled to perform at Clive Davis's pre-Grammy party that was being held at the hotel later in that day.

The cause of Houston’s death is currently unknown; however, it is not believed to be foul play. Houston struggled with drug addiction in the past, and many wonder if she had been intoxicated.

According to a report by People Magazine, Houston’s 18-year old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, was at the hotel with her.

Houston married Bobby Brown in 1992 and they had their daughter Bobbi Kristina together. Houston divorced Bobby Brown, 43, in 2007. Both Houston and Brown had drug addiction problems. Oprah Winfrey interviewed Houston last year and she admitted to having addiction problems. She also said that she had cleaned up.

Houston is the daughter of gospel singer Cissy Houston and is related to Dionne Warwick and Dee Dee Warwick. She is also the goddaughter of Aretha Franklin. She sang in church growing up. Later in her teen years, she sang backup for Chaka Khan, Jermaine Jackson, and others. She also modeled.

Music

Her first album, “Whitney Houston” was release in 1985. In the 1987’s release of the "Whitney" album was the first female artist to debut at #1 on the Billboard Charts. In 1992 she starred in the film “The Bodyguard,” and at the same time released a movie soundtrack album titled “The Bodyguard.” All three of these albums sold over nine million each.

Houston had acted on the film "Sparkle" with Jordan Sparks that is scheduled to be released in theaters on August 10, 2012.

There will very likely be an autopsy conducted to determine the exact cause of death. Sometimes results can take several weeks for the final conclusion to be announced.
