Honda Gas Powered Trimmers Recalled for Repair

Honda HHT35SUKAT Gas Powered Trimmer being Recalled - CPSC

(Best Syndication News) - The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the voluntary recall of American Honda gas powered lawn trimmers with the model number of HHT35SUKAT. The recall was announced because the company received 11 reports of broken or cracked shafts with no injuries being reported.

The company is concerned that the broken or cracked shafts could cause the lower gear case or cutter attachment to fly off, which could possibly cause injury. Around 14,000 trimmers in the US and 3,600 trimmers in Canada are involved in the recall. They were sold at Honda Power Equipment dealers both online and at stores nationwide between May 2006 and February 2012 at a price around $420 - $430.

The HHT35SUKAT model is gas powered and has a red case with the word “Honda” is displayed on the top front. A label on the shaft says “Honda” and “HHT35S.” The serial numbers involved range between HAHA-1000001 and HAHA-1017345.

Consumers who have the recalled Honda trimmer should not use it until they have had a Honda Power Equipment Dealer complete a free inspection and repair. American Honda can be contacted toll-free at (888) 888-3139 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Mon. – Fri. The American Honda's website is at http://powerequipment.honda.com.
