(Best Syndication News) - The singer from the Monkees group, Davvy Jones, passed away this Wednesday after suffering a heart attack in Florida. He was 66 years old.

The Monkees was formed in 1966 with four members – Davvy Jones, Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, and Peter Tork. The Monkees continued to be a hit into the 1970’s. Some of the songs that the Monkees made into hit recordings were “Daydream Believer,” “Last Train to Clarksville,” and “I’m a Believer.”

The Monkees was a fictional band that got their start on a TV show, "The Monkees," that aired between September 1966 to March 1968. The theme song is still popular with the baby boomer generation. The TV show was a hit and the Monkees toured as a real band. Davy Jones reunited with the Monkees to tour twice, once in 1986-89 and again in 1996-97.
