Ford recalls certain 2013 Escape and Fusion Vehicles for Overheating Engine

Car Recall - BSN

(Best Syndication News) - The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced the recall of certain 2013 Ford Escape and Fusion vehicles because the engines could overheat. This problem could lead to fluid leaking, which could cause a fire if it comes in contact with an ignition source, such as a hot exhaust system.

Around 80,057 vehicles are involved in the recall. The 2013 Ford Escape cars with 1.6L engines were manufactured between October 5, 2011 and November 26, 2012. The 2013 Ford Fusion cars with 1.6L engines were manufactured between February 3, 2012 and November 29, 2012.

Ford is planning to contact vehicle owners on or before December 7, 2012. The recall procedure for remedying the problem is still being determined.

In the meanwhile, vehicle owners who have the recalled vehicles should contact their dealer or Ford to arrange for alternate transportation. Vehicle owners can contact Ford Motor Company Customer Relationship Center toll-free at 1-866-436-7332.
