Free Electronic Recycling offered at Staples Stores Nationwide

(Best Syndication News) - Everyone has had a piece of electronic equipment fry out on them, and then wonder what to do with it. Instead of stacking up an electronic graveyard in the garage to collect dust, consumers can bring it to a Staples store nationwide to get it recycled for free.

Staples accept all brands of office electronics for recycling and they do not require that they were purchased from them. The electronics that Staples will take are desktop PCs, laptops, netbooks, tablet PCs, external hard drives, and small servers. They will also take computer printers, desktop copiers, faxes, and all-in-one printer/fax/copier equipment. Peripherals such as computer mice, keyboards, modems, routers, networking devices, and PC speakers are also taken for recycling. Paper shredders, streaming devices, landline phones, and battery backups are taken. Finally, they also will take mobile phones, GPS equipment, MP3 players, digital camcorders, and digital cameras.

They do not take televisions, appliances, alkaline batteries, floor model copiers or printers, large servers, or audio/visual equipment. Other household electronics such has small kitchen appliances are not included. Additionally, there is a limit of six items per customer per day. Therefore, if you have been packing away your antique computer systems for the last couple of decades, you may have to make a few trips to the store.

HP announced that they have achieved a milestone of recycling over 2 billion pounds of electronics, due in part to participating with Staples in a recycling program.
