(Best Syndication News) - Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) and Microsoft Corp. announced the availability of Amazon Instant Video on the Xbox 360 platform. The Xbox360 owner needs to have and Xbox LIVE Gold member to install the app on the game console. Owners of the Kinect can navigate the video using their voice and hand gestures. Those without Kinect can use the Xbox remote to navigate the app.

The new Xbox 360 app also works for Amazon Prime customers that can view over 17,000 movies and TV shows. Amazon Prime membership is a yearly subscription that gives shipping discounts and use of other services offered by Amazon.com including a video library.

The Amazon app is free on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360. The app has an ability to know where you left off on one device and then let you pick up where you left off on another device. The app will also allow you to create a Watchlist of Titles that you want to see. There is also Your Video Library, which is your personal collection of videos that have been purchased.

Amazon Instant Video has over 120,000 digital movies and TV episodes that are available to rent or to purchase.

For a limited time, Amazon Prime members can get one free month of Xbox LIVE Gold at Xbox's website.
