‘Frog and Toad’ Book Series to be made into Animated Feature Film

(Best Syndication News) The popular children’s books Frog and Toad are going to be made into an animated feature film. Jim Henson Company announced today that they have acquired the rights to develop the stories into a movie.

The Frog and Toad book series, by Arnold Lobel, include five short stories. The stories are about a frog and his friend toad.

Additionally, Jim Henson Company has reached a multi-category licensing and merchandising program in the US and Canada with HarperCollins Children’s Books for the “Frog and Toad” property.

Melissa Segal, Senior Vice President of Global Consumer Products at The Jim Henson Company said that as they develop their film, they would be putting together a variety of licensed products including apparel, accessories, gifts, toys, home furnishings, and room décor. The plan is to launch these “Frog and Toad” licensed products in 2013 at department and specialty stores.

The "Frog and Toad" characters were developed into videos back in 1985 and 1987, but not a feature film. The 1980's rendition of the stories were claymation.
