Kolcraft Stroller Recall announced for important Repair

Kolcraft stroller recall - CPSC

(Best Syndication News) - The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that Kolcraft has issued a voluntary recall of certain strollers and is offering consumers a free repair kit to remedy the problem. Children’s fingertips have been amputated and adults have suffered smashed and cut fingers because of a hinge mechanism that adjusts for the handlebar height of the stroller.

Around 36,000 baby strollers are involved in the recall. The three and four wheeled Kolcraft Contours Options strollers were sold at stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com, Target.com, and ToysRUs.com between January 2006 and June 2012. The strollers were sold at a cost between $150 to $160.

The stroller model numbers involved start with ZL002, ZL005, ZL008, ZL015, and ZL018. The ZL002 model has the model number displayed on a sticker placed above the left wheel. All the other models have the model number printed on a label sewn into the back of the stroller seat pad. The manufacturing dates are between January 2006 and November 2009. The strollers came in different color designs.

Consumers who have the recalled strollers should stop using them until they can install a repair kit that is being offered by Kolcraft at no cost. The company can be contacted at (800) 453-7673 between 8 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. ET Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. ET Friday or at their websites www.kolcraft.com.
