2010 Lexus RX350 and RX450H vehicles recalled for possible Stuck Gas Pedals

Road - BSN

(Best Syndication News) - Toyota will be recalling certain 2010 Lexus RX350 and RX450H vehicles because the gas pedal can get stuck in full throttle because a floormat. The recall was announced by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on June 30, 2012.

Around 154,036 vehicles are involved in the recall. The Lexus RX350 and RX450H that are involved in the recall were manufactured between November 28, 2008 and September 1, 2010.

The problem is with the floormat that can cause the accelerator (gas) pedal to be stuck in the open or full throttle position. This could cause the car to travel at fast speed and make it difficult for the driver to stop the vehicle. The danger of the stuck gas pedal could cause the car to crash, which could cause serious injuries and even death.

Lexus will start to notify vehicle owners of the recall starting in early August 2012. They will instruct vehicle owners how to take the cars to the dealership to get the dealers to either modify or replace the accelerator pedal and they will replace any floor mats that do not meet specification. Vehicle owners can contact Lexus toll free at 1-800-255-3987.
