SkilSaw branded Miter Saws recalled for Safety Guard Replacement

Skilsaw Miter Saw recall announced - CPSC

(Best Syndication News) - A recall of SkilSaw branded Miter Saws was announced today by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on behalf of Robert Bosch Tool Corporation. The recall is for a lower safety guard that could break off and pose a laceration danger to the user. No injuries were reported to the company in regards to this recall. Bosch is offering owners of the miter saw a free lower replacement guard kit to remedy the problem.

The miter saws were sold at Lowe’s Home Centers nationwide and also at OC Tanner. The tools were sold between January 2012 and April 2012.

Around 22,149 of these SkilSaw® 10-inch compound miter saws are involved in the recall. The model number involved is 3316, but only the ones that have the date codes of 111, 112, 201, 202, 203, or 204 are being recalled. The date code and model number are on the lower right side of the motor housing on a nameplate.

Consumers who have the recalled miter saw should stop using it until that can get a free lower safety guard replacement kit installed. To get the kit, consumers can contact Bosch by calling them toll-free at at (888) 727-6109 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. CT Monday through Friday. Consumers can also visit Bosch’s website at www.skiltools.com for more information about the recall.
