(Best Syndication News) - Bank of America has released a new mobile app for banking with new features including Mobile Check Deposit, Person-to-Person Email, Mobile Transfers, and Mobile App Alerts. The new banking app will make it possible for Bank of America customers to do their banking all from their mobile phone.

The Mobile Check Deposit feature works by having the customer take a photo of the check and then they follow the prompts to complete the bank deposit. Currently this feature is only available on the Apple iPad, but will support the Apple iPhone, Google Android devices, and Microsoft Windows Phone in a few more weeks. The app is designed to work on Smartphones and tablets that can connect to the Internet.

Two more features are Person-to-Person Email and Mobile Transfers. The Person-to-Person Email features will let banking customers transfer money to another person using a Smartphone and only an e-mail address or a mobile phone number. The transfer of money to other people is also available with their online banking service. Bank of America said that by not having to share account information, there is an added level of protection from identity theft. The money transfers to other people are available for those with a US based bank account. There is no fee to send the money.

The Mobile App Alerts will send notifications pertaining to the account to the mobile device. There are over 50 different alerts that can be configured by the customer to keep them aware of important details about their account, such as low balance, online card usage, and irregular card activity. The alerts are configurable by the customers.

Bank of America personal accountholder customers can use the features of the mobile banking app after they have completed a one-time enrollment process inside their online banking account.

Currently the Bank of America banking mobile app is supported on the Apple iPad®, Apple iPhone®, Google Android™ Smartphone or tablet, Kindle Fire™, Windows® Phone, and via mobile browser in certain states. By mid-August, the app will become available nationwide.
