(Best Syndication News) - Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) announced that they have entered into an IP licensing agreement with Sharp Corp. that will allow the use of their Extended File Allocation Table (exFAT) technology.

The new exFAT technology distributed by Microsoft is often found in Smartphones that have the Android operating system. The agreement will allow Sharp to use the exFAT file system in their products.

The exFAT file system helps make it easier to share large files between PC computer systems and other devices such as Smartphones. The exFAT file system makes flash memory devices capable of storing over five times more than the previous technology. Additionally, the exFAT increases data accessibility speeds.

Microsoft said that since the start of the IP licensing program in December 2003 they have entered into over 1,100 agreements with companies to use their technology. Other companies that have reached an exFAT patent licensing agreement include Panasonic Corp., SANYO Electric Company Ltd., Sony Corp. and Canon Inc.
