GM recalls certain Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainer, SAAB 907x, and Isuzu Ascender Vehicles

Vehicle recall - BSN

(Best Syndication News) - A General Motors (GM) recall involving around 249,260 vehicles was announced because there is a possibility that a circuit board could short and cause overheating, smoke, and fire. The announcement was made by the US Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Only certain models of 2006 and 2007 vehicles are involved and were originally sold or currently registered in Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia.

Only certain models of the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL and 2006-2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier, SAAB 9-7x, and Isuzu Ascender vehicles are being recalled.

The short can be caused by a possible leak of fluid near the driver's door module. The shorted circuit board could cause the power door lock and power window to work irregularly. It is possible that the power controls could stop working altogether. The problem could be complicated if the circuit board overheats. The hot board could melt parts inside the door module. It also could cause smell, smoke, or fire.

General Motors is still working on a timetable to announce the recall procedure for Buick, Chevrolet, and GMC vehicle owners. When finalized, GM will notify owners of the recall and will instruct them on how to get the problem repaired.
