(Best Syndication News) - Today, SONY unveiled their newest XBR 4K TV set at their San Diego headquarters. The large 84-inch display (measured diagonally) is an LED panel television set that is capable of delivering four times the resolution compared to the HDTV sets currently on the market. The XBR-84X900 TV set will also be Internet capable and 3D.

The 4K resolution is 3840 x 2160 pixels. The set can display that resolution so long as the source can send that resolution. The signal is sent through a single HDMI cable. With this TV set, consumers will be able to enjoy digital still photos from their cameras displayed at the 4K resolution on the large screen display. If the 4K resolution becomes the new standard, more devices and broadcasts with the higher resolution will become available.

The 3D viewing has improved with the XBR 4K TV set. The higher resolution makes the 3D images appear better than before. The 3D glasses are also lighter than before. In order to enjoy 3D, the customer will need 3D content such as what would be played on a 3D player.

The XBR-84X900 was shown with a 10-speaker surround sound audio system that installs along the sides of the TV set. Combined, the audio speakers offer 50 watts, which will give enough volume to provide that home theater experience. With the giant sized screen and the audio system, the home theater would be complete.

The XBR 4K TV supports Internet with built-in 802.11 WiFi. Common streaming services such as Netflix, Pandora, Video Unlimited, are just some of more than 50 apps that can connect users to the Internet for their entertainment and communication needs. To enjoy the best streaming video quality, SONY recommends the customer have at least a 2.5 Mbps data transfer rate from their Internet provider. If they want to get HD quality, they would need 10 Mbps.

SONY is expecting to have the XBR-84X900 TV set on display at a few of their stores starting on September 6, 2012. SONY did not announce the pricing and availability of the XBR 4K TV set.
