Road Construction - BSN

(Best Syndication News) - Caltrans announced that a new road maintenance project for SR 38 near Big Bear Damn will start on Wednesday, September 5, 2012. They are warning travelers to expect delays or plan different routes to avoid the road construction.

The $2.9 million project will be completed by Matich Corporation and will have flagging between 8 am and 4 pm, Monday through Friday. The affected area is between Highway 18 to Big Bear Dam.

Completion of the road construction was set tentatively for sometime this fall. The road construction should be completed before the winter ski season begins.

The road construction could cause delays. Therefore, Caltrans is suggesting travelers in this area plan different routes or plan ahead for delays.

Traffic delays are posted at http://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/ to let travelers know how long it will take to travel through congested areas such as road construction areas.
