Twitter support for Instagram Photos Vaporizes

(Best Syndication News) - Instagram fans were shocked to not be able to share their filtered photos on Twitter today. Facebook, who purchased Instagram this year, ended support for Twitter cards. This meant that Twitter users that used the Instagram photo-sharing app will now be inconvenienced.

Today, Twitter users are tweeting their shock; Instagram photos are no longer being displayed on the website. Twitter announced the status change on their website this afternoon. They wrote:

"Instagram has disabled photo integration with Twitter. As a result, photos are no longer appearing in Tweets or user photo galleries.

While tweeting links to Instagram photos is still possible, you can no longer view the photos on Twitter, as was previously the case.

Users are experiencing issues with viewing Instagram photos on Twitter. Issues include cropped images. This is due to Instagram disabling its Twitter cards integration, and as a result, photos are being displayed using a pre-cards experience. So, when users click on Tweets with an Instagram link, photos appear cropped."

Twitter users that want to share their Instagram moments with others will have to share a link to the image.

By withdrawing support for Instagram, Facebook may be creating a competition between the social networking sites. Likewise, Twitter also may be working towards independence from their competition.
