(Best Syndication News) - With just days until the release of Microsoft Windows 8, Sony unveiled a mobile tabletop PC called the VAIO Tap 20 PC. It is a combination of a tablet and a PC. The hybrid design can work with a wireless keyboard and mouse turning it into a PC.

The VAIO Tap 20 PC has a 10-point multi-touch screen that will work well with the new Windows 8 operating system. The large 20-inch screen, with a built-in stand, can be adjusted to many different angles. The tablet can be used without a keyboard and mouse and laid flat on a tabletop. Add the wireless keyboard and mouse and it can be used like a regular PC computer.

The nice part of the tablet is the size of the touch-screen display. It really isn’t “just another tablet”; it is more like a PC. It has a battery built into the unit, which makes it portable.

The touch screen is able to follow more than one finger. For example, a drawing program app is able to have two people draw pictures at the same time on the screen. Sony has collaborated with ArtRage to offer the natural painting software on all of the new touch VAIO models, including the Tap 20 PC.

Like other tablets, there are media apps available. This includes music services and other entertainment products. Sony Entertainment Network’s Music Unlimited service is available for the Tap 20. This music service will let subscribers listen to any song in the catalog. There is also Fingertapps Organizer, which is a calendar app that will let everyone in the family post their to-do list and record videos and messages for each other.

The VAIO Tap 20 will be able to connect to other electronics throughout the home. The computer uses Near Field Communication (NFC) to communicate with other devices with the same technology. If you touch one device with another, it will start a wireless connection with it.

There are two built-in speakers for stereo sound. The speakers include Sony’s Dolby Home Theatre v4 Audio Technology providing full-impact surround sound.

Sony is also introducing other VAIO products at the same time that will be optimized to work with the Microsoft Windows 8 operating system. Available in black or white, the VAIO Tap 20 will be obtainable at the end of October with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) starting at $879.99.
