Master Forge Gas Barbeque Grills recalled for Fire and Burn Concerns

Master Forge Gas powered Barbeque Grills - CPSC

(Best Syndication News) - The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a voluntary recall of around 37,000 Master Forge Gas powered Barbeque Grills because they may have not been properly installed. Consumers who have the recalled grills are asked to inspect and fix the gas hose connections to make sure they are not touching the burner box.

The Master Forge Gas Grills are made by a company in China, Guangdong Vanward Electric Co., Ltd., and imported by LG Sourcing, Inc., of North Wilkesboro, N.C. The grills were sold at Lowe's stores nationwide between November 2011 and May 2012 for about $270.

If the grill is not properly installed, the hose that connects the gas tank and regulator to the burner control can touch the burner box. The hose can be exposed to heat causing it to melt and rupture when in use. This could become a fire and burn hazard. The manufacturer has been notified of two cases of the hoses melting and rupturing. Neither incident caused a personal injury.

The model number involved in the recall is GD4825, which is posted on a label inside the door of the base of the grill. There are the words, “Master Forge” written on the hood of the grill. The grill has four-burners with a single-door base. The instruction manual has the words, “Item 94277” printed on the cover.

Consumers who have the recalled barbeque grills are asked to stop using the grill until they can make sure that the hose is running on the outside of the grill cabinet and is fed through a round hole in the side panel. Consumers can contact Guangdong Vanward Electric to get a new instruction manual, a warning label to apply to the grill, and to learn the proper way to install the hose and regulator.

More information is available about this recall at the company’s website, Consumers can also call Guangdong Vanward Electric toll-free at (888) 584-3648 between 8 a.m. through 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday for the revised manual and warning label.
