(Best Syndication News) – Today AT&T announced a plan to invest $14 billion over the next three years to expand their 4G LTE network and wired IP Broadband network. The expanded coverage will help create faster Internet speeds for consumers throughout the United States.

AT&T estimates that around 300 million people will be covered by the 4G LTE wireless broadband network by the end of 2014. Around $8 billion has been allocated for wireless initiatives.

The wired-IP broadband network coverage will also be expanded to 75 percent of their customer locations in AT&T’s 22-state wired phone service area by the end of 2015. Around $6 billion has been set aside for wireline expansion.

Business customers will also be better served with fiber networks being installed to add around 1 million more business locations. Around 50 percent of multi-tenant office buildings within AT&T’s wired service area will have the fast fiber connection available by the end of 2015.

AT&T estimates that 99 percent of their customer locations will have access to high-speed Internet; they will have either wired IP Broadband or wireless 4G LTE options available.

“This is a major commitment to invest in 21st Century communications infrastructure for the United States and bring high-speed Internet connectivity — 4G LTE mobile and wireline IP broadband — to millions more Americans,” said Randall Stephenson, AT&T chairman and chief executive officer. “We have the opportunity to improve AT&T's revenue growth and cost structure for years to come, and create substantial value for shareowners.”
